Bekki & Alex Real New Hampshire Wedding | Vermont Bride Magazine | New England Wedding Inspiration

Alex and Bekki discovered some interesting commonalities when they met at a bar in Haverhill, Massachusettes. Bekki is a high school ceramics teacher and Alex happens to enjoy ceramics as a hobby. They were also surprised to learn that Bekki’s apartment was located right next to Alex’s parent’s house. It was not long after their first meeting that they went out for their first date.

On a trip to Bekki’s family’s lake house in Maine, Alex surprised her with his grandmother’s engagement ring in a handmade birch box one early morning on the front porch as she was reading. They decided to have their wedding in Bekki’s home town of Lyme, New Hampshire and they knew the are would be beautiful in the fall. Being a teacher herself, Bekki liked the idea of getting married in an old school house and the Lyme Academy Building had a wonderful old charm- plus enough space to comfortably fit all of their guests. The nearby Dartmouth Skiway had a post and beam interior that they both loved, plus a beautiful overlook of the mountain from the large deck.

Their color palette of slate blue, orange, and cream was perfect for a fall harvest theme. They had gorgeous centerpieces of pumpkins, gourds, bittersweet, and vines. Bekki’s mother made table runners with sunflowers on them and Bekki created ceramic acorns for decorations that doubled as favors. They used names of New Hampshire mountains for the different tables. Their love of New England was apparent and their wedding perfectly blended into the fall landscape.

Cortney & Justin Mexico Wedding Inspiration | Vermont Bride Magazine

As summer is winding down it may leave many of us dreaming of the beach and warmer weather. Perhaps this Labor Day weekend, even, you are traveling for one last hurrah at the ocean. So it seems fitting for us to share this warm and bright destination wedding that took place in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. Under a stunning blue sky and amid the swaying palm trees, Cortney and Justin said "I do" on the beach, with barefoot bridesmaids and and sound of crashing waves in the distance. The beauty of the Azul Beach Resort only added to the tropical location and their friends and family enjoyed dining al fresco and then dancing the night away in celebration of their two families joining together.

Christy & David | Colorful Florida Wedding Inspiration | Vermont Bride Magazine

Christy and David met at church when they were both in college. Even though David made it known that he liked Christy they remained friends, even while Christy moved away for a little while. When she returned they soon realized they were taking the same Spanish class and became study buddies. This time when David asked her out, Christy said yes. Eventually, under the harvest moon, David proposed at a beach that is a special spot for the couple.

Christy and David had a very special and unique wedding under a beautiful oak tree in Palm Bay, Florida. Family is very important to them both and their wedding was particularly special because Christy’s father almost lost his life a few days beforehand. They were prepared to have their ceremony at the chapel in the hospital if he was unable to leave, but he was cleared the morning of the wedding. Because of his fragile state, Christy’s brother walked her halfway down the aisle, where she was met by her father, and her mother waited at the end. Even though it was not the original plan, having all of her family give her away became one of the most special memories of the day. Not only was her father able to attend, but her grandparents, who are both in their late 90s, also were present.

To honor Christy’s grandparents they created table runners out of her grandmother’s old fabric she had gifted to Christy. They also made a giant word search on a canvas as a nod to her grandfather’s profession as a writer and his love of puzzles. She also wrote a letter of gratitude to them for being an amazing example with their marriage of 75 years, which she had translated into their native language of Spanish.

Family also had a hand in creating much of Christy’s accessories. Her Aunt made her veil, her grandmother’s scraps became her bouquet, and her jewelry was handmade by a widow in Albania that was brought over with another Aunt who traveled to America for the wedding. Christy and David created all of their reception games, a word search, and a photo booth.

Blush & Copper Wedding Inspiration | Farm to Table Wedding Inspiration | Vermont Bride Magazine

Copper is often overlooked for its cousins, gold and silver, but it offers a warm glow and lustre that is beautiful in its own right. Not quite as yellow in tone as gold, it has a deeper, somewhat richer quality. Soft shades of pink are the perfect foil to masculine copper, which is elevated to a state of romance and sophistication. Here they are paired with cherry wood and clean white accents to create a modern, organic palette the feels right at home in a lush Vermont landscape—complete with a farm field ready for planting.
