What was the proposal like? The proposal was at one of our favorite places to walk with our dog.. He proposed at Indian Brook Reservoir at the point where the rock goes into the water. It was just us and our dog. I, of course, said yes!

Why did you choose Vermont for your wedding? There are so many beautiful options in Vermont. I grew up in Vermont and even though Tyce grew up in Indiana, Vermont is home for us, we couldn’t imagine being married anywhere else.

How did you choose your venue? We wanted something rustic and something that would showcase Vermont. We looked at a few venues and both agreed on the Alerin Barn for its open, fun and beautiful setting. We fell in love with the outside ceremony location, the rustic barn and the option to host our wedding party on site.

What was your theme/color palette? Our main colors were blues, grays, gold and hints of pink to go along with the natural elements of the venue.

What was your favorite detail from your wedding? Oh goodness, it is hard to choose,  but I’d have to say my veil. It was actually the veil my mom wore in her wedding to my dad that I had tailored to fit with my dress.

How did your wedding reflect your relationship as a couple? We wanted it to be fun. Tyce’s friends and family are all from out of town and we really wanted to show them a great time and this very special place that we call home.

What were some of your favorite moments? To be surrounded by all of the people that you love makes for a very special day! I loved being able to stay on property all weekend, setting up Friday, the celebration on Saturday to breakfast with our family and friends on Sunday morning. We also loved that our dog, Noodles was able to be part of the ceremony.

What advice would you give other couples planning their wedding? Enjoy every moment as the day goes by so fast! Don’t sweat the small stuff, stay focused on what matters most, the celebration of your love!
