Jess & Chris | Real Vermont Love Story | The Skinner Barn | Waitsfield Vermont | Vermont Bride Magazine

Jess and Chris first met at Saint Michael's College, in Colchester, Vermont, and began dating soon after graduation. They fell in love in Burlington, and Jess grew up in Vermont, so the state had special meaning to them both. Even though they moved out of state they go back to Vermont every chance they get to play outside, eat, drink, and be with friends and family. The special meaning, and natural beauty of the Green Mountain State, made it an obvious choice for the location of their wedding.

Jess and Chris are relaxed and laid back so their celebration was the same. The cocktail hour was held outside on the lawn, compete with lawn games like stilts, corn hole, ladder ball, and bocce. An array of local cured meats and cheese from Vermont, and fresh shucked oysters from Massachusetts (where the couple now reside) were on hand as well. Having good food, drinks, and most importantly fun was the focus of the day.

To read more of Jess and Chris' love story and see more photos of their wedding, pick up a copy of the Summer/Fall issue of Vermont Bride Magazine, out at the end of May!

Dallas & Jeffry's Real Vermont Wedding | Vermont Bride Magazine | Features in the Winter/Spring issue

Dallas and Jeffrey have been vacationing in Vermont for years to enjoy nature's playground - mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, and relaxing - and they couldn't wait to share it with their friends and family. Their July nuptials were the perfect way to showcase their favorite place. We love the delicate balance of rustic, Vermont barn style, with the modern, classy touches of their gold and pink color palette.

Tourterelle French Wedding Venue in Vermont | Vermont Bride Magazine

Tourterelle is one of the sweetest spots for a wedding I know of. In addition to amazing views everywhere you look, there’s a comforting simplicity in everything about the place.

From Christine’s ready and calm assistance to make sure everything is going smoothly for everyone, to the rustic Pavillion, housing receptions protected from the weather but with an outdoor feel, to the fountain in the small pond, with the family of ducks strolling by, it’s a place where you can feel at home.

Tourterelle is widely known for the excellence of their French Country Cuisine. Their culinary excellence has received much notice, both locally and beyond. Here’s a quote from “The Urban Spoon”:

"We travelled by motorcycle thru Vermont to tour the New England states of Maine, Mass. ,etc to New York City. We ate here the night the hurricane came in, and this was we believe the best meal of our trip. We have travelled extensively including two trips to Paris and also eat often at our favourite French restaurant, 'La petit France' in Toronto, Canada. We will return if we find ourselves within 500 miles of the place."

Real Wedding | Jen & Tim

Jen and Tim's Rustic Romance | Vermont Bride Magazine

When they began planning their wedding and reception, Jen and Tim knew a rustic, Vermont theme was the perfect reflection of their relationship. Tim is an arborist and a rugged outdoorsman, and Jen has the combination of beauty, charm, and skills with fishing and hunting to make her his perfect match. So it was only fitting that the celebration of their union reflected Jen and Tim’s personalities and all of the things they love to do together. Jen spent months preparing all of the adorable rustic details including handmade wooden signs, centerpieces made from wildflowers. old horseshoes and deer antlers, handmade bride and groom deer sculptures, and a wall of photographs that told the story of Jen and Tim’s lives and their relationship, from childhood through their engagement. Their love for the outdoors, and each other, was present in every detail from their outdoor ceremony to the little saplings each guest received to take home and plant.

EtheridgeWhite Main

Today we are bringing you some charming wedding inspiration from the peach state of Georgia! Jess and Matt's late May nuptuals took place at Pineola Farms, a 12 acre pecan orchard - a fitting backdrop for their modern-country style. The fusion of styles came together beautifully, from cowgirl boots paired with a crystal belted flare gown, to gray chevron striped tablecloths paired with rustic, wild flowers atop chunky wood slices. The event was capped off with a vintage, green pickup truck for the perfect photo opps.

Jess and Matt's color palette consisted of shades of teal and white, with wood and chalkboard details. The bouquets were rustic bunches of local wild flowers bound with burlap, which were echoed in the centerpieces on the tables. Billowy white paper pom poms adorned the seats and arbor at the ceremony, which echoed Jess' wedding gown skirt. Overall, we think Jess and Matt did a fabulous job at combining sleek, modern elements with a rustic setting.

Knoll's Barn, Derby, Vermont

TarinDerek-lovestory-main

Country style and charm is still very much alive in the mountains of Vermont and Tarin and Derek's Derby wedding is proof of that. A beautiful, outdoor ceremony overlooking a pond was a perfect beginning to a fun-filled party with family and friends. The bride and bridesmaids all wore cowgirl boots and were transported by an old wagon filled with bales of hay and the couple gave out hand painted horseshoes as favors. Knoll's Barn was a fitting backdrop for the teal and brown, country inspired celebration the couple desired. Here is what Tarin had to tell us about their special day:
