When Cesar Chavez and his team were planning this styled shoot, they knew they wanted to put together a unique, elegant, and fashion-forward styled shoot. And they succeeded, big time! With a color palette of maroon, dark purple, mauve, green and gold, the details came together for a timeless look that perfectly complimented the dramatic and historic surroundings. The fashion is front and center with the bride wearing a sultry, risqué, silver sparkle illusion gown with long elegant feathers custom made by Sheri Autry Couture that really brings the "Wow" factor.
Kristin and Walter, who goes by Woody, are avid travelers and they often take little weekend getaways when their schedule allows it. One such weekend, they headed to Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, for one such trip. After pushing through the jet lag Saturday morning, Kristin was ready to take a nap but Woody insisted they meet up with a tour group he had already paid for. As they stood waiting on a stunning bridge in the middle of Amsterdam, they spent a couple of minutes just taking in the beauty all around them. Kristin started to suspect there really was no tour group coming and then suddenly Woody got down on one knee and proposed! He had even arranged for a photographer to capture the entire thing and then they had an hour long engagement shoot around the city.
Kristin spent the first ten years of her life living in Vermont and even after her family moved to Florida they often vacationed at a summer camp in Highgate Springs. The family lake house is a beautiful spot and perfect for Kristin and Woody to hold their wedding. Having their celebration in a place that held so many childhood memories, set on a beautiful cliff overlooking the lake, was the perfect fit for the couple. The weather was gorgeous and every detail came together better than they had imagined. It was an intimate gathering of their closest friends and family with a balance of their love of the outdoors and Vermont, but still formal and elegant.
Some of their favorite moments happen to have stemmed from mishaps. After all of the flowers died due to a heatwave, Kristin and her bridesmaids went out into the nearby fields and picked buckets of wildflowers. The flowers ended up being more beautiful than Kristin had imagined. While lighting off their wish lanterns some became caught in the trees. There was a brief panic that they would catch the trees on fire, but they eventually floated away in a beautiful display. The lanterns floated across the lake and into the water, which made for a stunning sight for all of their guests.

On Carie’s first day at her new job in Newark, New Jersey, Mike promised to show her the beautiful parts of the state. He chose to first take her kayaking in Sea Bright and the pair started dating soon after. Carie is originally from Vermont and it was on a trip back there for Thanksgiving that the couple were planning on an overnight stay at the Red Clover Inn on their way to Saint Albans. Mike had originally planned on proposing that night, then sharing their big news over the holiday, but a snowstorm derailed his plans and they had to drive straight to Saint Albans without stopping. With a new reservation for the night after Thanksgiving, Mike proposed while they were enjoying the hot tub under the stars. Then they promptly celebrated by jumping out of the hot tub and making snow angels in the fresh snow!
Both Carie and Mike have high stress jobs yet always feel an immediate sense of calm, freshness, and serenity when they cross over the border into Vermont. Perhaps they were also swayed by the pictures of beautiful, rustic, chic barn weddings in Vermont Bride magazine, which confirmed to them that they must have their wedding in the Green Mountain state. The Red Clover Inn had sentimental value to Carie and Mike, plus the Inn features a quant, red barn, and a superb restaurant and awesome staff, making it the perfect choice for the reception.
Carie chose lavender as the theme for the wedding, as it has mind, body, and spiritual benefits in addition to a pleasant aroma and a pretty purple flower. There were shades of purple in the decor, hand drawn lavender on the invitations, and a lavender infused frosting on the cake. Since lavender promotes calmness and tranquility it was perfect for a laid back atmosphere during the entire celebration. Carie and Mike wanted a smaller wedding for a more intimate setting. Their friends and family mostly stayed at the Inn and were able to celebrate for an entire weekend of events.
Carie and Mike’s advice for other couples planning a wedding is: “Plan the wedding that is in your heart and not the wedding you think others expect of you. Relax and enjoy the day. What really matters is that you are marrying “the one” and the people most important to you are there to celebrate with you. What more could you ask for?”

It was at a Halloween party Angela had in grad school where her and Mica first chanced to meet. She was dressed as Mother Nature and he was a lumberjack - talk about “opposites attract”! After grad school the couple moved to Pennsylvania where Mica accepted a teaching job at a college. They still came back to visit their friends in New Hampshire often and decided to spend New Years at the seacoast there. On New Year’s Eve day Micah took Angela to the beach, the location of their very first date and many dates since. Despite the cold they walked along the beach for a while and right before heading back Mica shocked her by getting down on one knee with a ring in his hand. Even more of a surprise, Mica had arranged for a photographer to capture the entire proposal, and did not reveal his secret to Angela until the eve of their wedding where he presented the photos to her as a wedding gift.
Angela grew up in Rutland, Vermont and Mica is from New Hampshire so they both love New England and knew they wanted to have their wedding there. Angela had grown up near the Mountain Top Inn and they had attended a friend’s wedding there, so she knew it had everything on her wish list. The location is stunning and it has the perfect blend of rustic and elegant. Because of this, Angela and Mica did not feel that they had to do much else in terms of decorating. They played off of the natural environment with neutral colors of white, gray, and green. They used wooden flower boxes, geometric lanterns, and candles to keep things simple and intimate.
Ben and Jerry’s ice cream has been a way the couple has celebrated milestones throughout their relationship so they knew serving their guests some of their favorite flavors was a must! They also wanted to include their beloved Bernese Mountain Dog, Jengo, and were thrilled that he could stay at the resort with them and be there for the ceremony.
Angela and Mica’s advice to other couples planning their wedding is: “Don’t get caught up in the little details. You know what you like and what you don’t. Just go with your first instinct. We planned our dream wedding in six short months and much of that was possible because we didn’t stress over the tiny details. The more sure you are of what you want and how you want the day to go, the less likely you are to be influenced by everyone else who has an opinion. We also found a venue that made planning our wedding incredibly easy, meaning that on the day of the wedding, we weren’t running around tending to last minute decisions and we could really enjoy the entire experience. Most importantly, remember that the only thing that really matters is that at the end of your wedding day, you are husband and wife. And that is the best feeling in the world!”

Monica and Patrick met as young children-their parents remember him chasing her around and saying he would marry her one day! But Patrick and his parents moved away and they lost touch for twenty-something years. A serendipitous reunion on Christmas found them bonding over their mutual love of skiing and Patrick eventually brought Monica to his family vacation home near Stratton Mountain.
Monica and Patrick's love of Vermont drew them to the state to search for a wedding venue. On their very first day of searching, they fell in love with Hildene. There was also a St. Paul’s church nearby, which was perfect since they had met as children at their local St. Paul’s in New York. Their one goal when planning their wedding was to share a memorable celebration with the people who mean the world to them, and to be romantic and playful. It was full of handmade touches they put together with their friends and family; golden animal drink stirrers and magnets to hold the escort cards, floral bases for the centerpieces, and watercolored menus and table names.

Vermont is a place that is very dear to both Finn and Lindsay. Finn grew up there and over the last several years it has become a second home to Lindsay. Plus you can’t beat the beautiful, natural backdrop! The couple wanted to share their favorite spot with Lindsay’s family and all of their friends. It was important that their guests could stay on property and have plenty to do together, since most would be coming from out of town. The Mountain Top Inn & Resort had all of the amenities, and the breathtaking vistas, that they were looking for. Their entire wedding weekend was held on site, from the rehearsal dinner down by the lake, to a Sunday farewell brunch. Their guests enjoyed horseback riding, playing tennis, walking the trails, and even skeet shooting. Not only is the Mountain Top Inn beautiful, but it is practically a “summer camp for adults,” as Lindsay puts it. From s’mores around the fire pit to sipping drinks by the pool—there was something for everyone.

After Kellie’s parents built a home in Queechee, Vermont, Kellie and Steven have enjoyed numerous relaxing visits as a reprieve to their normal lives in New York City. The area always relaxes and rejuvenates them with an abundance of nature, fresh air, and starry skies. After they became engaged, the couple knew they needed to share this experience with all of their friends and family. Space exploration is an important passion to Kellie, both personally and professionally, so it felt natural to incorporate it into their wedding. A former NASA astronaut and Space Station Commander officiated the ceremony and they included Storm Troopers during the recessional for a bit of fun and lightheartedness. “Starry Night” was the theme for the reception, with lots of twinkling lights and orbs throughout the tent.

Kamala and Amr had a gorgeously, darmatic Indian themed wedding featuring a bold color palette of deep raspberry, purple, and gold. Rich tapestries, known as saris, were draped over the rafters in the atrium which perfectly captured the essence of their theme and gave an elegant and dramatic touch to the room. Each table was covered with exquisitely colored linens and unique candle holders that are typically used in Indian weddings. Kamala and Amr’s favorite moments were from their ceremony-the unity sand ceremony, vows, and readings created a beautiful and amazing sequence of events that reflected their deep love for each other and perfectly combined their personalities. Sharing those moments with all of their guests made the whole day magical.

Hilary and Joshua have lived many places during their relationship, due to Joshua’s military service, but they dream of one day planting roots in Vermont. To them it is the most beautiful state in the country and so it was the perfect place for them to hold their wedding. They chose to stay at Stowe Mountain Lodge while they searched for a venue, but upon checking in to the resort they realized they had already found the perfect place!
Their theme of rustic glamour had shades of purple and gold to compliment the woodsy feel of the decor, which featured lots of flowers and plants. It was the perfect combination of classy, elegance, and rugged, nature. Solstice, the caterer at Stowe Mountain Lodge, worked with the couple to create their dream menu with duck, venison, local cheeses, and all local drinks. Their last minute decision to hire the band The Party Factor for the reception helped them show off their dance lessons.
Hilary and Joshua’s advice for other couples planning their wedding; “When you're choosing a venue, don't forget you're also interviewing a wedding coordinator. One of the main reasons we chose Stowe was because Wendy Collins, our coordinator, was stellar. She made what would have been a stressful year much easier and on the Big Day itself, took care of all the behind the scenes work. We literally had nothing to worry about the day of, and everything went flawlessly.”
