Modern and Feminine Ballet Wedding Inspiration | Airy, Dreamy Pink and Blue Wedding Design | Vermont Bride Magazine

Initially inspired by the Pantone Colors of the Year, “Serenity” and “Rose Quartz”, this wedding inspiration photo shoot is soft, dreamy, and playful in nature. The soft, feminine pink and powdery blue complement each other so beautifully. Fluid and airy link the art of ballet, the classically modern backdrop of the Olympic Rooftop Pavilion provided a perfect canvas to bring the vision to life. The breezy open air patio gave the Sarah Seven gown from The Dress Theory the most ideal flowy and fluttery feel. Floaty, hanging, and free moving florals and modern details mixed with elegant, vintage feeling props come together with the pinks and blues to create an elegant and dreamy combination.

Modsummer Nights Midcentury Wedding Inspiration | Modern and Tropical Wedding Inspiration | Vermont Bride Magazine

Today we are continuing our love affair with Midcentury style themes with a lush and tropical styled photo shoot from KSL Wedding in Arizona. This styled wedding inspiration marries together a modern approach to the classic fairy tale and a lush tropical locale. Whimsical greens and exotic blooms, with marble and copper accents, perfectly marries together a modern approach to the classic fairy tale and a vibrant, southern ambiance.

Mid-Century Modern Wedding Inspiration | Historic Architecture and fun modern details | Vermont Wedding Magazine

We love the highlights of copper and pale green succulents, to compliment the neutral backdrop of the space, and the original stained glass windows of the historic building featured in this mid-centruy modern inspiration photo shoot from Vancouver. It is both nostalgic and fresh with bright and airy colors in the floral design, but rich wood tones throughout the space. And the cute fox stationery adds a fun modern bit of whimsy! The building used to be an orphanage in the 1970's and has now been repurposed for weddings and events. We think that the structural bones of the architecture and the details will lend itself nicely to a variety of wedding themes and styles.

Industrial Bohemian Wedding Inspiration | Brick and Beam Modern Wedding | Vermont Bride Magazine

We love the contrast between the exposed brick walls and the custom, lace bespoke wedding gown in this inspirational photo shoot. It perfectly highlights the industrial venue but gives it a soft, feminine touch with muted pinks, lavender, green and pops of gold. The rustic farm table paired with fine china and the whimsical geometric stationery really brings the bohemian aspect alive.

Merlot and Blush Urban Loft Wedding Inspiration | Modern meets Vintage in a Hip Downtown Lof

This merlot and blush inspiration photo shoot from JBphotography seemlessly blends vintage and modern elements in a hip and trendy loft setting. A banner with inspiring words of love calligraphied creates an ethereal backdrop for an intimate ceremony surrounded by candles and deep burgandy florals give the scene depth and drama. Bronze and metal geometric shapes give height to the table setting while laser cut signage adorns the place settings. A rustic, yet romantic, cake display further merges the hip and modern feel of a casual ceremony with a more traditional, vintage look with white washed doors and an antique suitcases and furniture.

Kristina & Alain Real Vermont Wedding Inspiration | Winter Elopement on Valentine's Day | Hotel Vermont Burlington | Vermont Bride Magazine

Kristina and Alain met on a balcony at a mutual friends party. When the crowd dissipated and they were the only two people left outside, Alain took the opportunity to kiss Kristina, and their love story began! One of their first getaways as a couple was to Burlington, Vermont - just a short drive from their hometown of Montreal. They immediately fell in love with the scenery, food, and amazing people in Burlington. When Kristina received an email from Hotel Vermont advertising their elopement package, she knew it was the perfect option for her and Alain.

Hotel Vermont took care of all the details for the elopement, so all Kristina and Alain had to do was hire a photographer. They chose a dark red and deep purple color palette- perfect for their Valentine’s Day wedding. Despite the chilly temperatures they opted for an outdoor ceremony, fireside, and took the opportunity to take photos on Church Street with all of the twinkling lights. They even braved the wind for photos on the lake at sunset. It might have been the coldest weekend of the year, but seeing the sunset on the lake ended up being one of their favorite moments of the day.

Krstina and Alain’s advice for other couples planning their big day: “Make sure you hire reputable vendors and do all of your planning ahead of time so you can relax and take in the day because even though we eloped it went so fast.  Remember nothing is ever ‘perfect’ and it’s the things that don’t go as planned that make it the most memorable.”

Laura & Patrick Real Vermont Wedding Inspiration | Basin Harbor Club Wedding | Vermont Bride Magazine

Laura lived in Vermont her entire life, before moving to Nashville for college, and had brought Patrick there for many trips to visit her family. They both love Vermont in the fall and after Laura saw the wedding arch at Basin Harbor Club, she knew it was the place they should get married. Their families were deeply involved with the wedding planning–Laura’s sister was Maid of Honor, Patrick’s brother was Best Man, Laura’s brothers walked her down the aisle and read passages at the wedding, and her father officiated the ceremony. Right before she put on her wedding gown, Laura’s Aunt brought her a gift from her greatgrandmother. It was a bracelet that her great-grandfather had made for her great-grandmother many years ago. Laura also used the ring pillow both her mother and grandmother had used in their weddings. One of their favorite details from their wedding also was crafted by a family member. Laura’s sister created custom table numbers which featured a photo of Laura and Patrick from that age. The photos of them as babies were adorable and the ones from awkward middle school years provided lots of laughter and entertainment!

To read more of Laura and Patrick's love story and to see more photos from their wedding, pick up a copy of the Winter/Spring 2017 issue of Vermont Bride Magazine today! It is now available for purchase in select retailers throughout New England as well as right here on our site.

Alexis & Andrew | Real Vermont Wedding | Pink and Gold Modern Love Story | Vermont Bride Magazine

Alexis and Andrew had an elegantly modern wedding celebration at The Holiday Inn in Rutland, with a stunning pink and gold color palette. Lots of love and art deco influences in the decor, which glittered and shined amid sparkling candles. Gilded birdcages and a phenomenal four-tiered, gold striped, cake furthered the fairytale-esque atmosphere. While an old fashioned popcorn cart, a hot dog station, and a colorful candy bar kept things fun and whimsical.

Modern Urban Wedding Inspiration in Downtown Burlington Vermont | Same Sex Wedding Inspiration | Vermont Bride Magazine

With so many rustic, barn Vermont weddings, it can be refreshing to see something a little different - like this contemporary, urban styled event in downtown Burlington. With a hip, modern feel and a bold cobalt blue and orange color palette, we think it fits right in with Burlington's artsy vibe. Marriam Khan, of Just Weddings and The Little Purple Cake Shippe, and Lindsey at Farmhouse Group Events, collaborated to create the vibrant, fun theme that took place at The Farmhouse Tap and Grill. To check out more photos from this feature, see the Vermont Bride Lookbook, volume 6!

The bold bright colors & textures of locally sourced flowers, in a clean contemporary metal container, paired with the angles and clean lines make a more masculine atmosphere.  Use of metallic colors, like wire on the bout stems also gives it an urban and manly touch. Jamie of Letter10 Creative designed the invitation using 100% cotton paper with a modern lattice design inspired by the couple’s unity rings and customized to feature their initials. A bit of ribbon adds the perfect detail, and coordinated perfectly with the groom’s ties.

With all of the impromptu musical performances and entertainers that frequent downtown Burlington in the summer months, it's the perfect place for a casual reception with a little bit of something for everyone. Enjoy a stroll down the brick street, stopping at art galleries and taking in historical city hall and the church that gives the street it's name.

Mini, bite-sized cupcakes made of red velvet with a cream cheese frosting are tastefully decorated with custom cupcake wraps, hand cut to match the color theme and topped with the couple's initials. Matching cake pops are a fun and delicious favor and go perfectly with the menus and place setting. Both grooms are sporting bold and eye-catching ties from Beau Ties Ltd. The “Gerbera” pattern of the fabric is a soft woven silk. The bow tie is a standard prettied, and the necktie is a standard skinny.
