Essex-Carnival-1

If you like having fun, games, and pops of bright color, then a carnival themed wedding will be right up your alley. Carnivals evoke an old-fashioned feel of ring-toss, balloons, and strolling under strings of lights. Add in the aroma of fried dough, candy apples, and popcorn - and you have yourself a perfect, fun-filled day. It's no wonder that carnival and fair themed weddings have been popular for many years and are still going strong. There is unlimited color palette potential, as long as you incorporate something bright, bold, and cheerful. And you can make it as casual or elaborate as you want - with custom candy stations, lawn games, fair-inspired appetizers, bunches of balloons, and punchy fabrics.

Burlington International Airport, Burlington, Vermont

BTV-Wedding-1

When the Burlington Internation Airport announced last year their plans to rent a space for weddings, at a decent price, Jamie and Germain knew they wanted to be the first to have their wedding there. Area vendors quickly jumped at the chance to assist the couple in remaking the, rather unusual, space into something romantic and magical. We think they did a great job at taking a non-traditional venue and creatively transforming it into a space any modern couple could get excited about. Here is what Jamie had to say about their unique, first-ever, BTV wedding:

Budget-Bride-Classy-Wedding-1

When I first met Brandiann Kanya, the first thing I said to her, after the muscle memory response, “Great to meet you,” was, “I love your blouse.”  She told me she got a great deal on it at a secondhand shop. Ah, I thought, a girl after my own heart. I, like Brandi, am a sucker for an honest, can’t-pass-up bargain.  In no time we became fast friends, and I was honored to be invited to her wedding.

The more I got to know Brandi and her family, the more I realized that I, a recently engaged gal, could learn a lot from her.  Not only is she the queen of blouse bargain shopping, she makes saving money an everyday occurrence, whether it’s shopping for her young daughters or planning her own wedding.  She proved to me throwing a classy wedding doesn’t mean breaking the bridal bank.

She was kind enough to share with me (and you!) some ideas that are realistic and will have you saving money for other things, like the honeymoon!

Knoll's Barn, Derby, Vermont

Country style and charm is still very much alive in the mountains of Vermont and Tarin and Derek's Derby wedding is proof of that. A beautiful, outdoor ceremony overlooking a pond was a perfect beginning to a fun-filled party with family and friends. The bride and bridesmaids all wore cowgirl boots and were transported by an old wagon filled with bales of hay and the couple gave out hand painted horseshoes as favors. Knoll's Barn was a fitting backdrop for the teal and brown, country inspired celebration the couple desired. Here is what Tarin had to tell us about their special day:
