Jamie Dragon, Miss Vermont USA 2012 opened Lush Salon and Boutique in 2011, the
 same week she was crowned.

Jamie began her love of beauty at a very young age always doing her hair and
“borrowing” her moms makeup. In 2002 as a junior in high school she set out to
complete the Cosmetology Program at the Center for Technology, Essex. With the
desire to become an experienced stylist and salon owner Jamie set out to
complete her hours via an apprenticeship at Orbit Hair Design. Apprenticing gave
her the means to hands-on professional training with experienced local stylists,
as well as European trained stylists and traveling all over New England for many
other workshops, hair shows and educational classes in hair cutting/styling,
makeup, waxing, nails and business. Shortly after her high school graduation
Jamie took the Cosmetology boards and “passed with the highest scores the state
had seen in years."

Expanding her education for the love of the trade Jamie worked in several salons
in Vermont as well as traveling to perform on location hair and makeup services
for weddings and photo shoots.  Working through word of mouth Jamie has worked
with several individual brides as well as working closely with Riverside Farm,
The Round Barn Inn, Storied Events and Vermont Bride.

Jamie believes her strongest talent is her work as a stylist. Listening very
closely to the needs of her clients she strives to produce perfection every
client will be satisfied with. She takes her work beyond just giving a hair
style; her salon focuses on empowering women and enabling them to feel confident
in their own skin. She stays actively involved in her community by donating her
stylist skills to help NCAL, Helen Day Art Center, Clarina Howard Nichols Center
and many others as well as directing clients to local businesses to enhance the
economy.
