Inspiration: Colorful Carnival

If you like having fun, games, and pops of bright color, then a carnival themed wedding will be right up your alley. Carnivals evoke an old-fashioned feel of ring-toss, balloons, and strolling under strings of lights. Add in the aroma of fried dough, candy apples, and popcorn - and you have yourself a perfect, fun-filled day. It's no wonder that carnival and fair themed weddings have been popular for many years and are still going strong. There is unlimited color palette potential, as long as you incorporate something bright, bold, and cheerful. And you can make it as casual or elaborate as you want - with custom candy stations, lawn games, fair-inspired appetizers, bunches of balloons, and punchy fabrics.

A whimsical, antique pink bicycle, from Vermont Vintage Weddings & Rentals, will put a smile on any bride and groom's face and adds a fun element to otherwise formal photos. Another unique photo prop- an oversized, bright yellow balloon to hide behind for a quick kiss! This gorgeous bouquet from New Leaf Organics combines different textures with succulents and soft, frilly peonies. Little pops of yellow, purple, give it a cheerful lift and tie it into the carnival color palette.

The Essex Resort and Spa features a long and plush lawn, pefect for setting up a ring-toss or croquet game. Oversized hammoks entice guests to kick up their feet and relax a bit.

A pinwheel adorned cake, from Snaffle Sweets, is playful yet sweet, and looks perfect atop a stack of vintage white suitcases. Vermont Vintage Weddings & Rentals has everything you need, not only for a suitcase cake stand, but also for an eye-catching candy display that will bring out the kid in everyone. Yellow, pink, and blue cake pops, from Caketopia Cakes, mimic clusters of balloons.

Laura Macchia created an elegant and uncluttered invitation design that borrows elements from vintage fair posters, while still remaining clean and sophisticed for a wedding.

The chef at The Essex Resort & Spa can easily whip up grown-up versions of fair favorites, like this chick and waffles main course and a colorful row of bright red candy apples.

Wild and organic blooms, that seem fresh picked from the garden, fit perfectly into a casual table design. Mixing vintage place settings with more formal gold, cain chairs, and modern yellow chevron striped backdrops, create a stylish dinner table meant for good food and laughter.
