Laura lived in Vermont her entire life, before moving to Nashville for college, and had brought Patrick there for many trips to visit her family. They both love Vermont in the fall and after Laura saw the wedding arch at Basin Harbor Club, she knew it was the place they should get married. Their families were deeply involved with the wedding planning–Laura’s sister was Maid of Honor, Patrick’s brother was Best Man, Laura’s brothers walked her down the aisle and read passages at the wedding, and her father officiated the ceremony. Right before she put on her wedding gown, Laura’s Aunt brought her a gift from her greatgrandmother. It was a bracelet that her great-grandfather had made for her great-grandmother many years ago. Laura also used the ring pillow both her mother and grandmother had used in their weddings. One of their favorite details from their wedding also was crafted by a family member. Laura’s sister created custom table numbers which featured a photo of Laura and Patrick from that age. The photos of them as babies were adorable and the ones from awkward middle school years provided lots of laughter and entertainment!

After Kellie’s parents built a home in Queechee, Vermont, Kellie and Steven have enjoyed numerous relaxing visits as a reprieve to their normal lives in New York City. The area always relaxes and rejuvenates them with an abundance of nature, fresh air, and starry skies. After they became engaged, the couple knew they needed to share this experience with all of their friends and family. Space exploration is an important passion to Kellie, both personally and professionally, so it felt natural to incorporate it into their wedding. A former NASA astronaut and Space Station Commander officiated the ceremony and they included Storm Troopers during the recessional for a bit of fun and lightheartedness. “Starry Night” was the theme for the reception, with lots of twinkling lights and orbs throughout the tent.

Ben and Katie believe that fate was trying to bring them together for years. Both grew up in Vermont and they both attended and graduated from UVM the same year, yet somehow never met. After college, Katie worked for a while at Shearer Acura/Audi and VW, which Ben’s family owns, and he even started working there a few months after Katie left, yet they still did not meet. Finally a mutual friend invited Katie for a dinner with her former coworkers and Ben was there as well. They talked for hours that evening and six months later Ben gave Katie his number and asked her out on a date. Ben’s parent’s home overlooks Lake Champlain and was their immediate choice for hosting their celebration. It was also the perfect backdrop for their romantic, whimsical lakeside wedding theme in blushes, corals, gold, ivory, and green.

Kamala and Amr had a gorgeously, darmatic Indian themed wedding featuring a bold color palette of deep raspberry, purple, and gold. Rich tapestries, known as saris, were draped over the rafters in the atrium which perfectly captured the essence of their theme and gave an elegant and dramatic touch to the room. Each table was covered with exquisitely colored linens and unique candle holders that are typically used in Indian weddings. Kamala and Amr’s favorite moments were from their ceremony-the unity sand ceremony, vows, and readings created a beautiful and amazing sequence of events that reflected their deep love for each other and perfectly combined their personalities. Sharing those moments with all of their guests made the whole day magical.

Glenna and Jon had one of those rare, yet fabulous, winter Vermont weddings. It takes a special someone to want to have their wedding during the cold and snowy months in the Green Mountains, but since she was a young girl, Glenna had always dreamt of a winter engagement. The snow, the cold, and the rustic charm of the winter all seemed so romantic! So, in early June with a newly purchased engagement ring burning a hole in his pocket, Jon was confronted with a logistical problem. With the summer heat rising, Jon quickly thought of a plan. Jon contacted the hotel in DC that he stayed at during the weekend of his first date with Glenna and made special arrangements with them for the big day.
When the day came, Jon drove Glenna down to DC ostensibly to have dinner with friends. Jon explained that he had reserved the hotel room so that they could celebrate their 2 year anniversary in the city. Upon entering the room, Glenna realized that there was much more to the surprise. Jon had arranged for the hotel to decorate the room in a winter wonderland theme, thus creating the winter engagement Glenna had always wanted, despite the fact that it was the middle of the summer. A Christmas tree, garland, and fake snow covered the hotel suite along with a dusting of rose petals, pine cones, and presents wrapped for Christmas. On the floor, white rose petals spelled out the words, "Will you marry me?". When Glenna turned around to look at Jon he was on bended knee with an engagement ring featuring the center stone from her grandmother's engagement ring...And the rest, as they say, is history!
