Karla & Miles Vermont Wedding | Vermont Bride Magazine

You could not have asked for a more gorgeous day than the one Karla and Miles had for their wedding at The Hildene in Manchester, Vermont. The sky was the perfect shade of blue and the sun illuminated the stunning foliage in the gardens at The Hildene, making it seem like something out of a fairytale. With stunning mountain vistas, bluebird skies, and a garden bursting with colors, it was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple.

Honey Yellow and Purple Wedding Inspiration | Vermont Bride Magazine

We can't get enough of this gorgeous inspiration photo shoot from Lis Photography and Sarah Jo Willey, owner of Creative Muse Floral Design, featuring deep, luxurious purples and rich, golden honey! It is one of our favorite features from the current Summer/Fall issue of Vermont Bride Magazine (get your copy here!), but there were so many amazing photos that we knew we needed to share a few more on the blog. There are so many eye-catching details; from the amazing floral arrangements by Creative Muse, to the oh-so-chic yellow fascinator with a black veil and purple flower. The color combinations are warm and rich - a perfect combination for a late summer or fall wedding.

Following with the "Bee" theme, they cleverly used a vintage bee hive poster and some local Vermont honey for favors. Pops of yellow brighten up the saturated purples and the tablescape looks like it was meant to be sitting amongst the fallen autumn leaves. The real show stopper, though, is the delicately lace adorned bridal gown from Fiori Bridal. In an antique white, it adds a breath of fresh air to the rest of the heavy color scheme. The vintage feel is lovely with the old-fashioned feeling fascinator and the added black velvet bolero kicks the wow factor up a notch.

We love the addition of the violin and the Vermont farmhouse backdrop - it really transports you to a different, and more romantic, time period. A beautifully artistic design that captures the victorian passion and romance. To view more from this feature, pick up the Summer/Fall 2015 issue of Vermont Bride!

Erica & James Real Wedding in Stowe | Vermont Bride Magazine

Stowe is one of those quintessential Vermont towns where the streets are lined with cute shops and adorable houses, the snow-capped mountains tower in the distance, and everyone you pass waves hello. It's not wonder that it is a favorite destination for weddings. You don't have to look far for inspiration in the natural beauty and local artisans, and you can throw a stone and hit an amazing Resort, Inn, or B & B to host your "I do's". This is one of those simply lovely Stowe weddings where everything looks effortless and carefree. Where the decor perfectly matches the seasonal flowers in a nearby field, blooming, and the bride and groom can't resist a dip in the pool (with their gown and suit on!).

The Mountain Top Inn & Resort | Vermont Bride Magazine

If you’re looking for the best that nature provides, together with excellent service and elegant detail, The Mountain Top Inn & Resort in Chittenden, Vermont, is a must see. From the main lodge, to the lakeside house, to the barn, the small chalets, and the Wedding Knoll, to the friendly staff, The Mountain Top Inn & Resort is one of my own personal favorite places to be and to play music.

As a wedding musician, I’ve seen and played at The Mountain Top Inn & Resort every year since 2008, have seen the inside and outside of virtually every building, worked with the staff, and heard the comments of numerous wedding couples and families. From large groups on the Wedding Knoll or in the beautifully rustic new barn, to intimate gatherings in one of the small chalets tucked away in the woods, to the lakeside pavilion, the 350 acres of natural beauty, combined with full amenities and welcoming staff, provides everything a wedding couple and their families could wish for. From my own perspective, the staff has always been friendly, clear, and creates an environment where I’m able to provide the best service that I can without distraction from technical details that can hamper the progress of the day.

Lighting Inspiration For Weddings | Vermont Bride Magazine

A wedding trend I’ve seen become more popular in the past few years are sparklers, and even more recently, paper lanterns. These activities can add a bit of magic to your evening and make for great photo opportunities, but do require a bit of proper planning.

Let’s think about the basics for a minute here. Sparklers and lanterns have fire. Are you planning to get married in a hay field in July when it hasn’t rained for a few weeks in drought conditions?  – All I am saying is just be mindful of Mother Nature, her drought conditions, and any potential flammable environment around you. Let’s not even get into how potentially flammable that pretty dress can be!
