Meghann & James Real Vermont Love Story | Jay Peak Resort | Jay Vermont | Vermont Bride Magazine

Meghann and James are both passionate skiers, James even proposed during a backcountry skiing adventure, and have been to Jay Peak Resort many times. Once they learned that Jay Peak also hosted weddings they jumped at the chance to exchange vows with the gorgeous mountain views in the background. The day was beautifully sunny and clear, allowing them to take pictures on the mountain summit. The ceremony took place at the barn on property, which was beautifully decorated with bouquets of baby's breath in sap buckets. Meghann and James hand made the signs for the tables with names of trails at Jay Peak and they continued the ski theme with a pair of vintage skis that Meghann sanded down for their guests to sign in lieu of a guest book. The skis now hang in their home as a constant reminder of the day.

Avery & Kensley | Real Vermont Wedding | The Ponds at Bolton Valley | Vermont Bride Magazine

Avery and Kensley initially met and started dating in Connecticut, but Kensley soon moved to Burlington and Vermont quickly became Avery’s home away from home as well. Vermont is where they fell in love and so they knew it was where they would say “I do.” Even before they became engaged they dreamed of the perfect Vermont Wedding. Avery even began collecting Vermont Bride magazines for inspiration.

All of their favorite memories of falling in love in Vermont was the inspiration for their theme. Their favorite season, summer, the picturesque green mountains, local gourmet food, and native Vermont flowers all played an important role. A cool, natural color palette of greens, gray, with pops of white and purple worked well with the rustic vibe of The Ponds interior. The strength of the tree, with its branches twisting together to form stronger limbs, has always been important to Avery and Kensley, so they used the idea of the Tree of Love throughout their wedding.

Caitlin and Dan Real Wedding Inspiration | Vermont Bride Magazine | Stowe Mountain Resort

Caitlin and Dan's wedding at Stowe Mountain Resort was elegant with a touch of fun, and lots of meaningful details. Stowe is a favorite place for Vermont weddings and it is not hard to see why. With stunning mountain views and a modern twist on the classic ski lodge, it is a beautiful atmosphere to exchange your vows and throw an epic party. Caitlin and Dan's reception was no exception, with a signature Maple Old Fashioned drink, customized wooden signs made out of tree trunks, and we especially love the "Jenga" alternative to a guest book where guests wrote well wishes on wooden blocks.

Nikia & Kyle's Real Wedding | Winter Wedding | Mountain Top Inn and Resort | Vermont Bride Magazine

Nikia and Kyle met skiing in Vail, Colorado and soon discovered that they shared a love of the outdoors and snow. After dating and adopting a dog together, aptly named "Vail", they were engaged on the top of Beehive Mountain in Acadia National Park. So it was easy to decide on a season, theme, and location when it came time to plan their wedding. It had to be winter, on a mountain, with lots of skiing references. The Mountain Top Inn and Resort was the perfect place to make all of their wedding dreams come true. Their love for the snow was evident when it started snowing during our outdoor ceremony. It was a good thing they opted for a hot chocolate bar for their guests to enjoy before the ceremony! Bridesmaids, parents of the bride and the bride herself were transported to the ceremony by horse drawn sleigh. Fur coats and wraps were a must for the outdoor ceremony, and snow boots and vintage skis played a major role in the decor. The wedding invitations were ski themed, guests signed a pair of skis in lieu of a traditional guest book, and even the cocktail list was a ski sign.

Maria & Justin | Real Vermont Wedding | Rustic Winter Barn Wedding | Vermont Bride Magazine

The chill of the winter snow did not dampen the warm, heartfelt mood at Maria and Justin's festive wedding at The Mountain Top Inn & Resort. The softly falling snow only added to the romantic and cozy ambiance of the rustic-barn-in-the-woods feeling. Snowflakes and skis adorned the venue and the newly wed couple took an intimage and magical ride through the snowy trees on a horse-drawn sleigh. Karla & Miles Vermont Wedding | Vermont Bride Magazine

You could not have asked for a more gorgeous day than the one Karla and Miles had for their wedding at The Hildene in Manchester, Vermont. The sky was the perfect shade of blue and the sun illuminated the stunning foliage in the gardens at The Hildene, making it seem like something out of a fairytale. With stunning mountain vistas, bluebird skies, and a garden bursting with colors, it was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple.

If you’re looking for the best that nature provides, together with excellent service and elegant detail, The Mountain Top Inn & Resort in Chittenden, Vermont, is a must see. From the main lodge, to the lakeside house, to the barn, the small chalets, and the Wedding Knoll, to the friendly staff, The Mountain Top Inn & Resort is one of my own personal favorite places to be and to play music.

As a wedding musician, I’ve seen and played at The Mountain Top Inn & Resort every year since 2008, have seen the inside and outside of virtually every building, worked with the staff, and heard the comments of numerous wedding couples and families. From large groups on the Wedding Knoll or in the beautifully rustic new barn, to intimate gatherings in one of the small chalets tucked away in the woods, to the lakeside pavilion, the 350 acres of natural beauty, combined with full amenities and welcoming staff, provides everything a wedding couple and their families could wish for. From my own perspective, the staff has always been friendly, clear, and creates an environment where I’m able to provide the best service that I can without distraction from technical details that can hamper the progress of the day.

Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe, Vermont

Vermont Bride Magazine | Stowe Vermont Winter Wedding Covered Bridge

Winter is not the traditional season for weddings in Vermont, but it has been gaining popularity in the past few years. With opportunities for soft textures, cosy fires, and soul-warming libations, it's no wonder that more couples are choosing a snowflake adorned setting for their "I do"s. Kayse and Eben had been frequent "weekend warriors", driving up to Vermont for mini ski adventures, for years and knew it would be a special treat for their friends and family to experience the enchanting atmosphere that Stowe had to offer.

Read on to see what Kayse had to say about their path to this special Winter wedding:

The winter landscape in Vermont can start to look a little monochrome after a while, with snow-covered mountains, trees, and the pale gray, cloudy sky that typically dominates from December through March. To cut through the stark white, we love the idea of using deep, rich jewel tones to add warmth and sparkle to a winter season wedding. Dark purples, reds, studded with glittering gold, are the perfect foil to the ice and frost.

Dark chocolate whoopie pies are a perfect match for delicate gold calligraphy. Lots of shiny, vintage decorations give tabletops luxurious charm and interest. The sage and lime greenery pairs nicely with the more saturated garnet and plum colored flowers. Strings of cafe lights hang as a backdrop and give the entire area a warm glow that will last well into the evening.
